Baz Luhrmann's eagerly awaited fourth film has finally arrived. This epic and romantic action adventure is set during the trials of World War II, and stars home-grown talent Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Kidman plays a stubborn, wealthy English aristocrat who travels across the world to take control of a cattle station. There, she meets a rough-hewn drover (Jackman) and reluctantly agrees to join forces with him to save the land she inherited. Together they embark on a life-changing trek across some of this country's most unforgiving terrain, only to be caught up in the Japanese bombing raid on Darwin. 165 min.

At first, unable to believe what is happening, the crafty custodian quickly comes up with a way to solve all his family's problems. This fantasy comedy is directed by Adam Shankman of Hairspray fame. For super-dog Bolt (voiced by John Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue  at least until the cameras stop rolling. But when the powerful pooch sets off on a cross-country adventure, he finds the real world  and real danger  is a different story altogether. Maybe he's not as fearless as he's believed all these years. This Disney summer flick is set to become an instant classic and will delight audiences young and old. Definitely worth a look for the fans of Wall-E, Monsters Inc and the Toy Story films. (Some scary scenes) 95 min.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON (M)

Director David Fincher and Brad Pitt team up for a third time with this adaptation of an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story. Set after the end of WWI, the film follows the life of Benjamin Button, a man who is born 80 years old, but instead of ageing, grows young. Abandoned in an aged-care home by his father, he meets Daisy (Cate Blanchett), a young aspiring ballerina.  The two fall in love, all the while struggling to deal with  one growing younger while the other grows older. (Sexual references and coarse language) 167min.

THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (TBC)

In this remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic, Keanu Reeves stars as Klaatu, an alien representative sent to earth to inform the human race of its impending annihilation. It has been decided that humans are to be exterminated so the planet  with its rare ability to sustain complex life  can survive. The responsibility falls on astrobiologist Helen (Jennifer Connolly) and her eight-year-old stepson Jacob (Jaden Smith) to convince Klaatu  the human race is worth sparing. FOUR HOLIDAYS (M)

No one enjoys the holidays more than Brad and Kate. Every December 25th, this happily unmarried, upscale San Francisco couple embarks on a holiday tradition they have shared  since they met  ditching their crazy families for a relaxing, fun-filled vacation in a sunny exotic place. But not this year.  Brad (Vince Vaughn) and Kate (Reese Witherspoon) are trapped at fog-bound San Francisco airport. Worse still, a local news crew catches them on camera, revealing their whereabouts to  their families. With no escape and no excuses, they are expected home by their respective parents. As they brace themselves for a marathon of homecomings, Brad and Kate expect the worst.  Instead they gain a new perspective on where they came from and where they're going. (Some sexual humour and language) 110 min.

But in the summer of 1977, the steely, cunning former commander-in-chief agreed to sit for one all-inclusive interview to confront the questions of his time in office and the Watergate scandal that ended his presidency. Grief-stricken, he begins to suffer from short-term memory loss, but is driven by a longing to avenge his wife's murder. His only aim is the pursuit of vengeance: tracking and punishing the man who murdered her. His life becomes a quest for justice. He can't remember what happened 15 minutes ago, where he is, where he's going or why. Meanwhile, Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel) begins to take stock of his life. He finally steps out of his sister Sharpay's (Ashley Tisdale) shadow and starts to pursue his own dreams. Fans of the franchise worldwide are already applauding `Senior Year' as the best of the three films, andwith another collection of catchy, uplifting songs to sing along to, audiences young and old will thoroughly enjoy the ride. I'VE LOVED YOU SO LONG (M)

This powerful story of familial struggles and redemption follows a shell-shocked Juliette (Kristin Scott-Thomas), who returns to live with her  sister Lea (Elsa Zylberstein) after being banished from the family for 15 years. While  thrilled to be with her sister again, Lea can't help but question where her sibling has been  and what she's been doing. The answer will cause uproar within the family. A box office success in France, Scott-Thomas'  performance has  been singled out by critics for end-of-year award consideration. (Mature themes. Subtitled French) 117 min.

MADAGASCAR 2: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA (PG)

Having made arrangements to leave their island home, Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo say goodbye to their lemur friends and board their makeshift plane back to New York. Following a farewell ceremony befitting the coronation of a king, the friends set off for home. The aircraft isn't in the air for long, however, when the animals once again find themselves stranded in the middle of a foreign land. This time, though, they aren't alone and Alex discovers he may have long-lost family that have been awaiting his return. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa features the return of the first film's vocal talents including Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, and Jada Pinkett Smith. (Mild animated violence) 95 min.

John Grogan's best-selling book about his Labrador bounds onto the big screen in this heart-warming family comedy. Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston star as a couple who adopt the badly behaved but much-loved dog. Brought into the equation to give the pair a taste of parenthood, the rambunctious pup does just that  wreaking havoc on the household and disrupting his owners' lives. Oscar-winner Alan Arkin co-stars in this comedy from director David Frankel. (Mild coarse language, sexual references and themes) 111 min.
